Restore Your Brain and Improve Your Life with LENS Neurofeedback

Our brain wave activity effects how we feel, how we perform and how our bodies respond to stress. If our brain wave patterns are unhealthy it can result in a number of emotional and physical health issues.  The good news is that our brain is adaptable and neurofeedback can correct unhealthy brain wave patterns and replace them with healthy brain wave patterns.

Our brains our magnificent and wonderfully complex. Every part of us is affected by our brain. Our diets, lifestyle, chronic stress and trauma can create unhealthy patterns in brain activity. Neurofeedback is very effective and can be life changing. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback. It is called EEG biofeedback because it is based on the electroencephalogram. It is a scientifically proven brain-based technique that helps clients to balance and normalize their brain function thereby restoring their brain to optimal levels and improving the quality of their lives.

LENS stands for (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) and is a cutting-edge new Neurofeedback. LENS is considered “direct neurofeedback” and is one of the latest advances in Neurotherapy. The original Neurofeedback was developed in the early 1970s. Since then there has been many advancements in Neurofeedback technology.

LENS works by improving the neural activity of the brain. LENS is FDA approved, is non-invasive and is not painful. The electrical current coming from the sensors to your scalp is less than the current coming from your watch. LENS works well with symptoms caused by Central Nervous System dysfunction.

Who can benefit from LENS Neurofeedback?

LENS is remarkably effective, and over 85% of people who have used LENS have benefitted significantly from it.  Results can be seen quickly, often beginning within the first session, and are long lasting. LENS neurofeedback is scientifically proven to work with many presenting issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Sleep Issues
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Concussions
  • Addictions
  • Mood Issues
  • Anger/Explosiveness
  • Chronic Headaches/Migraines
  • Chronic Stress
  • Cognition and Clarity
  • Performance Optimization

What are sessions like?

LENS NeurofeedbackIn a regular traditional Neurofeedback session, the client remains still for 20 to 40 minutes in front of a computer/TV screen (named secondary screen), focused on what is being shown there. Neurofeedback practitioner adjusts in real time the reward thresholds at the brain frequency bands that are aimed to be trained based on a normative criterion. The clients brain comes to learn how to modify these amplitudes thanks to sound, visual and/or kinesthetic rewards.

In a LENS Neurofeedback session, however, the client can have their eyes open or closed and will receive a few-seconds of a LENS Neurofeedback signal. In fact, clients can even undergo counseling or EMDR therapy during or after their Neurofeedback treatment.

Healthy brain, healthy you.

LENS neurofeedback is best used as a holistic approach that is combined with psychotherapy. Although, LENS can be used as a primary treatment approach, it works best when it is offered as an adjunct to psychotherapy. Therapist Lemecia Lindsey, at Vancouver EMDR Therapy and Vancouver Wellness Studio specializes in the combination of LENS and EMDR therapy. This effective duo is especially useful in addressing emotional symptoms such as: PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), Dissociation, ADHD/ADD, Addictions, Bipolar, panic attacks and much more…
