Healing Trauma, Transforming Lives

* New Clients- I am sorry but my schedule is currently full and I am not able to accept new clients at this time. Please contact my EMDR colleagues at Vancouver Wellness Studio at 360-828-1429. You can also search the website for a EMDR therapist near you.

Hello my name is Lemecia Lindsey and I am a Certified EMDR therapist and the owner of Vancouver EMDR Therapy located in Vancouver, Washington. I want to provide you with hope that healing can take place for you, that you can recover from painful life experiences, and that your life can be transformed. I know because I get the privilege of seeing it every day!

If you‘re having trouble moving beyond anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or experiencing disturbing memories related to recent or long-ago trauma, I can help. People come to me asking for help because they are feeling stressed, afraid and alone. They are struggling to let go of the past and are feeling haunted by the things that they have seen or experienced. They are often having trouble in their relationships or difficulty at work. Each day can feel like a challenge to them.

The word trauma comes from the Greek term meaning “to wound.” Sometimes “talk therapy” is not enough to heal the wound. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy works directly with the brain and the way memories, thoughts, feelings and body sensations are stored when we are traumatized. I integrate this powerful, research-based trauma recovery method into my work with clients.

I work with adults who have experienced single incident trauma or childhood/repeated trauma. I support you on your journey to wellness by using EMDR therapy which is proven to be successful in treating many conditions including PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, complicated grief, disturbing memories, dissociative disorders, performance anxiety, sexual/physical abuse and neglect, pain disorders, and addictions.

In addition to EMDR therapy, I also provide LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback) to clients. Neurofeedback is a brain based treatment which helps to calm and soothe a dis-regulated brain that has been impacted by trauma. LENS helps to stabilize clients quickly getting them ready to process traumatic memories with EMDR.  It can also be used throughout EMDR treatment to help the brain re-establish new healthy brain networks, soothe the limbic (survival system) and move clients out of fight, flight and freeze responses associated with PTSD. It is a great alternative to medication!

As a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider I have received in-depth learning about the mind + body connection as it relates to mental health. I help clients with holistic self-care strategies will help them to stabilize emotionally quicker and be better able to the “work of therapy”, feel more resilient to stressors and sustain greater long-term treatment outcomes when therapy is over.

I am committed to serving the community of Clark County Washington by supporting individuals with trauma to help them heal, so that they can live a life that gives them meaning. At Vancouver EMDR Therapy, PLLC, you can expect that I will be Authentic, Innovative, Strengths-Based, Compassionate, Optimistic and Laugh with you.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is direct training for the brain. Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity, the electro-encephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation.  Self-regulation is a necessary part of optimal brain performance and function. Self-regulation training allows the nervous system to function better.
