Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. At Vancouver EMDR Therapy, PLLC we take your privacy seriously. Here’s what we do, and more importantly what we don’t do with all information you provide us.
Electronic Appointment Reminders:
With your written consent you can receive a computer generated appointment reminder to your home phone, cell phone, text, or email the day before your scheduled appointment. Please do not text the therapists. The therapists at Vancouver EMDR Therapy do not use text messaging to communicate with clients, except for automated appointment reminders. Please call or send a email to schedule and/or reschedule your appointments. Please be advised that appointments not cancelled 24 hours in advance will be charged the full session fee.
Email Communication:
Please be aware that email is not a secure means of transmitting information. Email can be used to discuss appointment scheduling or billing/payment. Please do not use email to discuss information of a therapeutic or clinical nature, including discussion of personal material relevant to your treatment. Please do not use email to cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance or for emergency purposes.
Appointment and Billing Information:
Appointment and billing information is considered to be “Protected Health Information” under HIPAA. Be informed that electronic methods, in their typical form, are not confidential means of communication. Therefore, there is a reasonable chance that a third party may be able to intercept and eavesdrop on those messages. The kinds of parties that may intercept these messages include, but are not limited to: 1.) People in your home or other environments who can access your phone, computer, or other devices that you use to read and write messages, 2.) Your employer, if you use your work email to communicate with the therapist, 3.) Third parties on the Internet such as server administrators and others who monitor internet traffic.
